For the development of the main character, Laina, it was essential to me that I created a young girl who would go on a journey and illustrate the importance of discovering her own power and magic. Laina practices new skills as she simultaneously takes in all the wonder around her and tries to follow her own intuition.
There is no bigger force than a girl who learns to combine her curiosity with creativity, understands what she is capable of and knows her inner worth. It is my hope that girls around the world learn to trust in their own intuition and believe in their own magic, which is there all along just waiting to be brought to light and to keep growing into this amazing power of self-discovery and never-ending wonder.
